John Cleese and the TARDIS!
01st Jun 2010Vincent and the Doctor isn’t the first time the Time Lord has mooched around the Parisian art world. In City of Death, the TARDIS landed in a gallery in the French capital and was mistaken for a piece of art by two very familiar figures…
The first was played by John Cleese, legendary star of Fawlty Towers, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, Shrek and other comedy classics. The second was the unmistakable Eleanor Bron who later played Kara in Revelation of the Daleks.
This scene comes from episode four of the adventure and when the Doctor rushes into the TARDIS he’s accompanied by his companion, Romana and a bumbling detective called Duggan. The plot revolved around the famous painter, Leonardo da Vinci, being forced to paint several copies of his most famous work, the Mona Lisa. But it’s all part of a plan that could result in the destruction of humanity!
